All pet cats in England to be microchipped by 10 June 2024 - or face a £500 fine
On 13 March 2022, the Government announced that all cats in England would need to be microchipped by 10 June 2024. If your cat is found to be unchipped, you have 21 days to chip them or face a fine. Cats are notorious wanderers and a microchip gives them a far greater chance of being reunited with you should they get lost.
